The Story in the Story

The purpose of this initiative is to recognise the merit of those people, athletes, institutions and associations that have contributed – and are still contributing - to the success of Marcialonga, making it part of the social and cultural heritage of the territory.

Every year, one kilometre of the Marcialonga Story course is dedicated to them, so that each competitor could discover, kilometre after kilometre, who and what is important for Marcialonga.

To begin, the kilometre “0” has been assigned to the Municipality of Tesero and the last edition, Ulrich Koster, first winner of Marcialonga in 1971, received the trophy for km 1. After the ceremony, he took part in the Marcialonga Story, living again the emotions of its experience.

The Marcialonga Organising Committee will dedicate the kilometre 2 to the Alpine Police of Moena as a sign of gratitude for their commitment and support.
