THE MARCIALONGA "FRIEND" RACES

Marcialonga di Fiemme e Fassa is one of the founding members of the Worldloppet Ski Federation, the international federation of "popular" cross country long-distance races that was founded in 1978 with the puropse of promoting, through its members, this sport discipline all around the world. 

Indeed, every country has its own “Marcialonga”, meaning its nordic ski marathon, each one with unique features that reflect the natural context and the culture of the country where the race takes place. 

“When I started working for Marcialonga, the General Secretary of the time Gloria, asked me to take part to Jizerska Padesatka, a ski marathon taking place in the Czech Republic. I had not put my skis on since I was a child but with some training and the brand new skis I received for Christmas, on January 13 I was ready for that adventure. The company was great, it provided for good laugther and we took advantage of the trip to visit some cities. The race was perfect, well, besides my "bison" performance, I was filled with unique sensations. I was gifted with the Worldloppet passport Worldloppet and it was with huge pride that I received my first stamp.  
Until today, I have been collected five stamps: Dolomitenlauf, Konig Ludwig lauf, Jizerska Padesatka, Tartu Maraton and Bieg Piastow.
Every race is an excuse to travel, at first with my friends and now with my family (yes, I managed to get my husband into this too) and every race is an occasion to see and understand what other races do, trying to get positive inputs for my job. Besides this, every race is an incredible personal achievement". 

The Worldloppet passport is a personal document where the races you have completed are registered. Stamp after stamp, you can aim for the Worldloppet Master title or even for the Global Skier title. The passport has no expiration date and you can add even races you completed before owning a passport. Passports are available at the Marcialonga office (cost 33,00 €); the perfect gift for Cross-country skiing affectionates.

But now, there is some big news! If stamps could be done after the race and you could ask for old stamps sending your passport via mail, which often had long waiting times, now the passport also has a virtual shape. 
Youo just need to register through the MYLOPPET LOGIN area on the Worldloppet website www.worldloppet.it inserting your personal data. In your “MyLoppet” profile, you will be able to see the races done, the times and some interesting statistics on your performance, such as total kilomenters and total race time. Besides this, it will be able to keep track and register to the "Virtual races", the contests that many race organizers propose for this year, where the global sanitary emergency do not give much of an alternative to the skiers that usually travel the world to ski.
