Marcialonga Story is the revival event that celebrates the history of cross country ski, using the equipment and the clothing of the 70's.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Marcialonga Story was born as the event to celebrate the 40 years of Marcialonga but it was such a big success that it has been confirmed for the next years and it has become a regular appointment for the Nordic Ski lovers.

USEFUL INFORMATION

PARTICIPATION

All male and female skiers - 16 years and older -  may enter this event which has not an agonistic or competitive purpose. In order to participate it is mandatory to have old equipment: skis older than 1976 with bindings of 75 mm, shoes, poles and cross-country ski clothing corresponding to that period. A special team of experts will check the status of the global equipment.

ENTRY FEE

• 35,00€ until 31.12.2023
• 40,00€ from 01.01.2024 until 26.01.2024 (upon bibs availability)

The fee includes: bib, badge, gadget, diploma, clothing transport to the finish, refreshments, shuttle bus (booked in advance).

A discount of 5,00€ is reserved to:

• competitors already registered in the 51st Marcialonga
• competitors born in 1964 or before

RACE OFFICE

The logistics centre of the Marcialonga Story will be the Palafiemme in Cavalese in the days leading up to the event.
As in previous years, you can register for the event (if available) and pick up your bib number here. 

• Thursday 3.00 - 7.00 pm
• Friday 9.00 am - 3.00 pm 

To collect the bib, you must present a personal ID.

START

You must be at the start beforehand for punching and checking your equipment. 
The start is at 4.30 pm

TRACK AND REFRESHMENTS

The event starts at the cross-country stadium in Lago di Tesero and runs backwards along the Marcialonga track to Predazzo. Along the track there will be a refreshment point in Ziano di Fiemme.
Length: 11 Km
Total HD: 157 m.

FINISH

The finish will be in Predazzo, piazza SS. Apostoli. At the arrival there will be a final refreshment and changing rooms.

TRANSFER FOR PARTICIPANTS

Before the start, there will be a bus service (upon reservation) from Predazzo to Lago di Tesero at 3pm. 

CLOTHES BAG

Delivery
Use the coloured bag to put your rucksack or clothes and apply the sticker with your bib number. Deliver it in the start area (the OC is not responsible for bags and clothing not handed in at the collection point).

Collection
The bag can be collected after the finish line in Predazzo.

PARTICIPATION DIPLOMA
A diploma of participation will be given after the race.

SANITARY ASSISTANCE
The sanitary service is confirmed along the track.

Exhibition and Rental

Good news for those who would like to participate in the Marcialonga Story but cannot find the right equipment! Mr. Giuliano Boninsegna, together with his team mates, exhibits his own collection of historical and ski equipment Nynsen, produced between the 70s and 80s by him and his brothers. Part of the stuff is available also to be rented in order to participate in the Marcialonga Story. Marcialonga also recovered various equipment so that those who are interested can have the possibility to experience the enthusiasm and authenticity of the 70s cross-country skiing.*
* the number of shoes and clothing is limited and it is recommended to reserve it in advance. 

COST:
- skis + shoes 30€ + poles + 20€ as a caution
- skis or shoes 15€ + 20€ as a caution 
- poles 10€ + 20€ as a caution
- Clothing 15€ + 20€ as a caution

You can pay the rental directly at the race office in Cavalese when you pick up the equipment. The equipment should be returned after the race at the dedicated stand in Predazzo, where you will be returned the caution.

Vintage Cross-Country Skis Book

Register your personal skis and old equipment and get the official certification by Marcialonga! At the moment the book includes more than 600 pieces.
The creation of a register of vintage cross-country skis has the purpose of gathering news, data and pictures of skis constructed in different periods, but still functional, so that everyone can see and appreciate their peculiarities, their history and their unique beauty.
The service is available at the Marcialonga Story Village in Cavalese and after the arrival of the Marcialonga Story in Predazzo.
