THE TOP SKIERS OF THE 38. MARCIALONGA

Björn Lind, Jörgen Brink, Thomas Alsgaard, Mathias Fredriksson, Anders Aukland, Rikard Andreasson, Fabio Santus, Bruno Carrara, Seraina Mischol, Sabina Valbusa… it is not very far from being a World Cup start list. All athletes who have been on Cups & Olympic podiums and who will be at the start of Marcialonga next January 30^th 2011. Next to them the “experts” of long distance races: Svärd, Ahrlin, Tynell, Jorgen Aukland, Cattaneo, Jenny Hansson, Susanne Nyström and so on for 7.200 names, so many are the competitors registered.

Marcialonga surely remains the race for the cross-country ski lovers, who match sport with nature, wellness and fun, but it is also an “elite” contest that offers moments of pure show with the fight for victory of the top racers. Big names, big numbers, big sponsors, an international broadcasting that will show all this to the world.

Recent snowfalls, low temperatures and a tested system of artificial snow production, could assure the availability of part of the course starting from Christmas holidays.
